B-LINE B340ZN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the B-Line B340ZN two hole splice plate used for?
The B340ZN is a two hole splice plate for Eaton B-Line strut fittings and accessories. It bridges two lengths of strut channel end to end, bolting through two holes to carry the joint. It is a flat steel plate, so it is a splice for in-line joints rather than a corner or angle bracket.
2) Is the B340ZN splice plate suitable for damp or outdoor use?
The B340ZN is electro-plated steel. That plating is a thin zinc coating meant for dry indoor service; for exterior, wet, or corrosive locations use a hot dip galvanized or stainless splice plate instead.
3) What hardware do I need to install the B-Line B340ZN splice plate?
The plate itself is the only item supplied. You bolt it to the strut through its two holes using channel nuts and hex bolts sized to the strut, and those are ordered separately. Plan on two nut and bolt sets per plate, and a plate on each side of the joint if you want a balanced splice.
4) What is the exact part number to order this B-Line splice plate?
Order it as Eaton B-Line B340ZN. The ZN suffix indicates the electro-plated zinc finish, which is what distinguishes it from the same plate in other B-Line finish codes.
5) Does the B-Line B340ZN plate carry any listing or certification?
Certifications are marked Not Applicable for the B340ZN splice plate. If your spec calls for a listed or labeled fitting on the run, this part will not satisfy that line item.
