B-LINE B279SQZN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the B-Line B279SQZN post base centered or offset?
Centered. The strut sits in the middle of the 6 x 6 inch plate, so anchor holes fall on all sides of the post. If your post has to sit tight against a wall or a curb edge, a centered base is the wrong choice and you want an offset or edge-type base instead.
2) What is the Eaton B-Line B279SQZN square post base used for?
The B279SQZN is a centered square post base for strut. It mounts to a floor or pad and gives a strut post a square steel footing, with the strut column landing in the center of the plate rather than offset to one edge. It's a steel fitting used on electrical and general strut support framing.
3) What finish does the B279SQZN strut post base come in, and can I use it outdoors?
It's electro-plated steel. That plating is a thin zinc-type coating intended for dry indoor service. For exterior, wash-down, or corrosive locations, specify a hot-dip galvanized or stainless post base instead.
4) Do anchors or bolts come with the Eaton B-Line B279SQZN post base?
The B279SQZN is supplied as the post base fitting itself. Concrete anchors or floor bolts, and the hardware fastening the strut to the base, are ordered separately and sized to your slab and strut channel.
5) Is the B-Line B279SQZN post base available in more than one size or finish?
It's a single configuration: model B279SQZN, 6 x 6 inch electro-plated steel, centered. There are no size or finish options to select on this model.
