B-Line Eaton series strut fittings and accessories, 1.62" Height, 6" Length, 6" Width, 3.14lbs, Steel, Square post base, centered offset, Electro-plat

The B279ZN is a square post base with a centered offset, used to anchor a strut post to a floor or other flat surface. The offset is centered, so the strut leg sits centered over the base plate rather than flush to one edge. It is steel with an electro-plated finish.

The plate footprint is 6 by 6 inches, with an overall height of 1.62 inches. That 6 inch square is what you need to clear on the slab or curb before you lay out anchors.

Electro-plated zinc is a light-duty corrosion finish meant for dry indoor use. For rooftop, exterior, or washdown environments, specify a hot-dip galvanized or stainless post base instead. The B279ZN is steel with an electro-plated finish.

On a centered offset base like the B279ZN, the strut mounting tab is set back from the plate face, which centers the strut over the plate and leaves the anchor holes clear of the channel. A flush or flat base puts the channel directly against the plate, so the strut sits on the plate centerline but anchors can end up under the channel. Pick the centered offset when you want the post load centered and still want clean access to your anchors.

Order it as Eaton B-Line B279ZN. That is the manufacturer part number for the 6 by 6 inch electro-plated steel square post base with centered offset.

No. The B279ZN is supplied as the post base only. You supply the concrete anchors or through-bolts to suit your slab, plus the channel nuts and bolts that fasten the strut to the base.
