B-LINE B852S-8-24ZN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the B-Line B852S-8-24ZN bracket suitable for outdoor or wet locations?
It is steel with an electro-plated zinc finish. That plating is a dry-location, indoor-protected coating, so for exterior, damp, or corrosive environments you want a hot-dip galvanized or stainless strut fitting instead.
2) What is the part number and size of the Eaton B-Line B852S strut bracket?
The bracket orders as B-Line model B852S-8-24ZN. It measures 7.78 inches in height, 24 inches in length/depth, and 8 inches in width, and weighs 7.501 lb.
3) Does the B852S-8-24ZN bracket come with the strut nuts and bolts needed to mount it?
The B852S-8-24ZN ships as the bracket only. Channel nuts, bolts, and the strut channel itself are ordered separately, so size the hardware to the channel you are mounting to before the crew is on site.
4) Does this B-Line strut bracket carry a UL listing or other certification?
No certification is carried on the B852S-8-24ZN bracket. It is a plain steel strut fitting, so if your submittal requires a listed component, it will not satisfy that line item.
5) Is the B-Line B852S bracket heavy enough to need two people or lifting gear to set?
At 7.501 lb it is a one-hand piece on a ladder. The 24 inch run is the awkward part, not the weight, so plan on holding it against the channel while you start the first channel nut.
