Baldwin Estate 4402 1-1/4" Tulip Cabinet Knob

Mounting hardware is included with the 4402 knob, so you get the machine screw needed to attach it through the door or drawer front. If your cabinet fronts are unusually thick, check the supplied screw length before install, since thicker slab fronts sometimes need a longer screw.

Eight finishes: 003 Polished Brass PVD, 031 Non-Lacquered Brass, 044 Satin Brass PVD, 055 Polished Nickel PVD, 150 Satin Nickel, 112 Venetian Bronze, 190 Satin Black and 260 Polished Chrome. The PVD finishes (003, 044, 055) are the ones to specify if you want the look held long term; 031 is a living finish that will darken and patina with handling.

The 4402 tulip knob measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter. That puts it in the mid-size range for cabinet knobs, big enough to grip comfortably on a full-height pantry or base cabinet door without overwhelming a small drawer front.

The 4402 is part of Baldwin's Estate Series and uses Baldwin's standard finish numbering, so ordering 150 Satin Nickel on the knob gives you the same Estate 150 finish specified on other Estate pieces. Order all of a run in one finish code and, where you can, at the same time, since hand-relieved and living finishes vary slightly piece to piece by design.

Baldwin lists the Estate 4402 as residential. It is fine for high-end condo, apartment and hospitality millwork where the look matters, but it carries no commercial cabinet hardware rating, so if your spec calls for a graded or tested cabinet pull you need a different product.

Pick 031 Non-Lacquered Brass if you want the brass to age and darken with use, which is the traditional look and the one that cannot be scratched off because there is no coating. Pick 003 Polished Brass PVD if the owner expects the hardware to look identical in five years, since PVD resists tarnish and handling. For a kitchen with heavy daily use and a client who dislikes patina, PVD is the safer call.

Yes. It is a single-hole knob, so it mounts the same way on a drawer front as on a door stile, with one bore and the included screw. Knobs also sidestep the center-to-center matching problem you get with pulls, so mixing the 4402 across doors and drawers takes no extra layout work.
