Baldwin 85316 Gramercy Full Escutcheon Handleset Emergency Egress w/ L029 Lever

The Gramercy 85316 handleset covers 1-3/4 inch doors as supplied, and goes up to 2-1/4 inches with the thick door conversion kit. Anything above 2-1/4 inches is outside the range. If you're on a standard 1-3/4 inch entry door, no kit is needed.

Handing matters on the lever versions. The 85316 entry function with emergency egress is ordered as either left hand or right hand, and the full dummy set with lever is likewise LH or RH. Two configurations skip handing entirely: the full dummy set minus lever, and the single cylinder handleset minus lever, because there's no lever to orient. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your left it's left hand.

Backset is adjustable on the 85316, so it works with either of the two standard bored-door backsets without ordering a different part. That's what lets it drop into most existing pre-bored wood or metal entry doors.

Emergency egress ties the deadbolt to the interior lever: turning the inside lever retracts both the latch and the deadbolt in one motion, so you get out without a separate thumbturn step. It's an entry function single cylinder handleset, keyed outside. If you don't want that linkage, the plain single cylinder handleset minus lever configuration is the alternative.

Yes, the Gramercy full escutcheon trim is offered as a full dummy set with lever in LH and RH, and as a full dummy set minus lever. That's how you handle the inactive leaf of a pair, or a fixed door, with trim identical to the operating leaf. Order the dummy in the same finish as the active side.

It's a residential-duty product. The Gramercy 85316 is Estate Series entry trim for a house front door. For an apartment building common entrance, a storefront, or anything carrying commercial traffic and code requirements, specify a commercial-grade lock instead.

Fourteen named finishes, including 003 Polished Brass PVD, 031 Non-Lacquered Brass, 033 Vintage Brass, 044 Satin Brass PVD, 050 Satin Brass Black, 055 Polished Nickel PVD, 056 Satin Nickel, 060 Satin Brass Brown, 076 Graphite Nickel, 102 Oil Rubbed Bronze, 112 Venetian Bronze, 190 Satin Black, 260 Polished Chrome, and 402 Distressed Oil Rubbed Bronze, plus ten M-coded options. Because these are Baldwin finish numbers, matching the number across other Estate Series pieces is how you keep a whole entry consistent. The Satin Nickel is nickel plated over solid brass with a PVD topcoat.

Solid forged brass. The deadbolt ships with a high grade steel strike, which is the piece that actually resists a kick, so it's worth using the long screws into the framing behind the jamb when you install it.
