A double cylinder handleset takes a key on both the outside and the inside, so nobody exits without a key in hand. Many jurisdictions restrict that on a required egress door, and the safety hazard in a fire or emergency is real. Check your local code before you buy. If the code says no, order the single cylinder version of the same Reserve Westcliff trim so the inside side is a thumbturn.

The prep is standard residential bored-lock prep: a 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset and a 1 inch edge bore for the latch. If the door you are replacing is a common residential entry with either of those two backsets, the handleset drops onto the existing holes. The Emtek 3002 Memphis, 3004 Hamilton, 3005 Melrose and 3006 Manhattan brass mortise entrance handlesets are all dummy function, as are the Weslock 6695 Belmont with Impresa knob and the Weslock 2815 Hillcrest with New Heaven lever. Ordering one of those in place of the Westcliff leaves the opening without a working lock.

Only with a caveat. The Kwikset 687AMD Amador single cylinder handleset is sold as exterior only, so it does not include the interior trim, while the Baldwin Reserve Westcliff includes an interior knob or lever chosen from styles such as the Ellipse knob, Round knob, Traditional knob, and handed Curve, Decorative and Federal levers on a traditional arch, round or square rose. The Amador is Grade 3 for 1-3/4 inch doors and is offered with SmartKey (KWI-687AMD-S) or with the SC1 keyway SmartKey (KWI-687AMD-SMC), rather than the Baldwin 5-pin C-Keyway.

Yes. By default the interior trim comes in the same finish as the exterior. If you want a split finish, say brass outside to match the other street-facing doors and satin nickel inside to match the interior hardware, specify both finishes when you order.
