1) Is the Blanco Stellar STE441ADA sink actually ADA compliant for a wheelchair-accessible kitchen?
Yes. The Stellar ADA undermount sink is built to ADA and CSA B651, with a reduced inner bowl depth of 5 inches and a rear-set drain hole so the drain plumbing tucks back and leaves knee clearance for someone working from a seated position. That shallow bowl is the whole point of the model, so if you need a deeper working bowl this is the wrong sink.
2) Does the Blanco STE441ADA come with a strainer and mounting clips, or do I need to order those separately?
Plan on ordering both. The basket strainer and the installation clips are sold separately from the Stellar ADA sink, so a single line item for the sink will not get an installer through the job. Add a strainer and an undermount clip set to the order.
3) Can the Blanco Stellar ADA sink be drop-in mounted, or is it undermount only?
Undermount only. The Stellar ADA is designed to mount below the countertop for a seamless, easy-to-clean edge, which means it needs a solid-surface, stone, or quartz top cut and finished for an undermount reveal. It is not a self-rimming drop-in, so a laminate top will not work without a different sink.
4) Why is the drain on this Blanco ADA sink at the back instead of the center?
The rear drain position on the Stellar ADA moves the tailpiece and trap toward the back wall of the cabinet. Combined with the 5 inch bowl depth, that keeps the space under the sink open for knee clearance. It also means your rough-in drain should be located toward the rear of the cabinet rather than dead center, so check the existing waste line before you commit.
5) Is a stainless ADA sink going to be noisy when the water runs?
Blanco addresses that on the Stellar ADA with sound dampening pads already applied to the underside of the bowl from the factory. Nothing to spray or stick on during install. Because the bowl is only 5 inches deep, water falls a shorter distance than in a standard sink as well.
6) Can I pair this ADA sink with a Blanco faucet and accessories as a matched set?
