Bobrick 1000356 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the Bobrick 1000356 U bracket actually attach?
It's the U-shaped bracket that ties a 1 inch thick toilet partition panel to a stile (pilaster) sitting perpendicular to it. The panel slips into the U channel and the bracket fastens to the stile face, so it handles the panel-to-stile corner joint rather than a panel-to-wall connection.
2) Is the Bobrick 1000356 an internal or exposed bracket?
Internal. Mounted this way the bracket is only visible to someone inside the stall, so it does not show on the public-facing side of the partition run.
3) Will this bracket match the finish of the other hardware on my Bobrick partitions?
Yes. It's satin stainless steel, the same finish Bobrick uses across its partition hardware, so a single replaced bracket won't stand out against existing shoes, hinges and latches on the run.
4) Is this stainless bracket suitable for a high-traffic or damp restroom?
It's 18-8 type 304 heavy gauge stainless steel, which is the standard corrosion-resistant grade for washroom accessory hardware in wet, frequently cleaned environments. That makes it appropriate for school, stadium and other high-use restrooms where painted steel brackets rust out.
5) Do I need a different bracket to attach a partition panel to the wall?
Yes. The 1000356 is a panel-to-stile U bracket for a perpendicular stile connection. A panel-to-wall joint uses a wall bracket instead, so order that separately rather than trying to adapt this one.
6) Is the Bobrick 1000356 genuine Bobrick hardware or an aftermarket copy?
OEM hardware direct from Bobrick, not a look-alike. For a facility standardizing on Bobrick partitions that matters, since the channel width and fastener spacing are cut to Bobrick's own panel and stile dimensions.
