Bobrick 2111 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the Bobrick B-2111 dispenser ADA compliant?
Bobrick lists the B-2111 as ADA compliant. For a facility standardizing on accessible washrooms, the practical part is the mounting: it is a surface-mounted unit with a push-button operation, so mounting height is set by the installer, and the button height on the wall is what determines whether the installed unit meets your reach range.
2) How much soap does the Bobrick B-2111 hold, and how often will housekeeping have to refill it?
The tank holds 40 fl oz (1.2 L). It fills from the top through a hinged filler-top rather than by cartridge, so you are refilling from bulk soap instead of buying proprietary refills. A soap refill window on the front lets staff read the level without opening the unit, which is what keeps a fleet of these on a walk-by check rather than a key-open check.
3) Is the Bobrick B-2111 soap dispenser vandal resistant enough for a public or school restroom?
It is built for that use. The tank is stainless steel with a satin finish, the wall fastening is concealed, and the hinged filler-top requires a special key to open, so the soap cannot be dumped or contaminated by a user. Bobrick describes the unit as vandal resistant. For high-traffic public washrooms, the key-locked top is the detail that matters most.
4) Can the Bobrick B-2111 be mounted on a tile or block wall without cutting into it?
Yes. The B-2111 mounts on the wall surface with concealed fastening, so it works on tile, block, or solid backing where you cannot open a cavity. Since the fastening is concealed behind the unit, there is no exposed screw head to vandalize or corrode at the wall line.
5) Do I need a key to refill the Bobrick B-2111, and does one come with the dispenser?
The hinged filler-top on the B-2111 opens with a special key, so refilling is a keyed operation, not an open-and-pour. If you are outfitting multiple washrooms, plan on the same key serving the whole set of dispensers, which is what makes standardizing on one Bobrick model easier for a housekeeping route.
6) Is the Bobrick B-2111 manual or automatic?
Manual. Soap is dispensed by a push button on the front, with no batteries, no sensor, and no power connection to run to the wall. That removes battery replacement from your maintenance route, which is the usual tradeoff against a touch-free unit in a high-traffic facility.
7) Will the Bobrick B-2111 match my other stainless washroom accessories?
The B-2111 tank is satin-finish stainless steel, which is the standard finish Bobrick uses across its stainless washroom accessory lines, so it reads the same as satin stainless grab bars, paper dispensers, and mirrors on the same wall. It ships in the one finish, satin, so there is no finish choice to get wrong on the order.
