Bobrick 3588-53 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Bobrick B-3588 toilet tissue dispenser fit a recessed opening, or is it surface mount only?
It ships as a surface-mounted unit, but the skirt comes off in the field so the cabinet can be set into a recessed opening instead. That is the whole point of the skirt kit: one part number covers both mounting conditions without reordering.
2) Will this Bobrick dispenser take jumbo rolls, or only standard core?
Standard core only. It holds two standard-core toilet tissue rolls up to 5-1/8 inches (130mm) in diameter, roughly 1500 sheets each. Jumbo roll tissue will not load in it, so if your buildings are standardized on jumbo you need a different Bobrick dispenser.
3) Can I key this tissue dispenser to match the other Bobrick accessories in my restrooms?
Yes. The flush tumbler lock is keyed like other Bobrick washroom accessories, so one key works across the dispensers, towel cabinets and napkin units in the same room. For a property manager or MRO buyer standardizing a facility, that keeps the janitorial key ring to one key.
4) Is the Bobrick B-3588-53 ADA compliant for a public restroom?
The unit is listed as ADA compliant. Compliance still depends on where you mount it, since ADA governs the reach range and the dispenser's position relative to the water closet and grab bar, not the dispenser alone.
5) Is this dispenser durable enough for a high-traffic or vandal-prone restroom?
It is satin-finish stainless steel with all-welded construction and is theft resistant, with a flush lock that sits in the face so there is nothing to pry on. All-welded stainless holds up in schools, stadiums and transit restrooms better than a spot-welded or painted cabinet.
6) What finish does the Bobrick B-3588-53 come in?
One finish only: satin stainless steel. There is a single model configuration, 3588-53, so there is no bright or powder-coat option to specify on the order.
