1) What rough wall opening do I need to frame for a Bobrick B-359 recessed towel dispenser?
Frame the opening at 11-1/4 inches wide by 15-5/8 inches high, with a minimum wall depth of 4 inches (285 x 395 x 100 mm). The cabinet itself measures 12-3/4 W x 17-3/16 H, so the beveled flange laps the rough opening on all four sides and hides the cut edge. On stud walls, check the 4 inch depth against your cavity before you cut: a 2x4 wall gives you enough, a furred-out or shallow chase may not.
2) Can the Bobrick B-359 be surface mounted on a block or tile wall instead of recessed?
No. The B-359 is a recessed unit only, built to drop into a wall opening with its flange trimming the edge. On a solid masonry or shallow partition where you cannot get 4 inches of depth, you need a surface-mounted folded towel dispenser instead, not this cabinet.
3) What kind of paper towels does the B-359 take, and how many?
