Bobrick 35903 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size wall opening do I need to frame for the Bobrick B-35903 recessed towel dispenser?
Rough the wall opening at 11-1/2 inches wide by 17-1/4 inches high, with a minimum 3-3/4 inch depth behind the wall (290 x 440 x 95 mm). The cabinet itself measures 13 inches W x 18-15/16 inches H x 4-3/16 inches D, so the flange covers the cut edges of the opening. If your wall cavity is shallower than 3-3/4 inches, for example a furred-out masonry wall, this unit won't recess and you need a surface-mounted dispenser instead.
2) Does the Bobrick B-35903 take C-fold or multifold towels?
Both. Loaded with C-fold it holds 300 towels; with multifold it holds 400. It's a folded-towel dispenser only, so roll towel won't work in it.
3) Can the B-35903 be surface mounted on a concrete or tile wall?
No. The B-35903 is a recessed-mount cabinet and needs a framed or cut opening with at least 3-3/4 inches of depth behind the finished wall. On solid masonry or tile over block where you can't cut that pocket, choose a surface-mounted folded towel dispenser instead.
4) Is the B-35903 ADA compliant for a public restroom?
Bobrick lists the B-35903 as ADA compliant. It's a manual, no-touch-free-mechanism dispenser, so compliance comes down to where you set it on the wall: mount it so the dispensing opening falls within the reach range required for your occupancy.
5) What is TowelMate and does the B-35903 already have it?
TowelMate is Bobrick's insert that separates the towel stack so users pull one sheet at a time instead of grabbing a handful, which cuts waste. The B-35903 comes with TowelMate built in. Bobrick also catalogs part no. 369-130 TowelMate as a separate accessory.
6) What finishes does the Bobrick B-35903 come in for matching existing washroom accessories?
Two: satin-finish stainless steel, which is the standard look on most commercial washroom accessory lines, and matte black for darker specification packages. Both are stainless steel construction, so they hold up in high-traffic and humid environments.
7) Will the dispenser door swing into the stall or block traffic when it's being serviced?
The door on the B-35903 has a 90 degree return, so it stops square to the wall rather than flopping all the way open. That matters in tight toilet rooms and beside lavatories, and it keeps the door out of the way while housekeeping reloads the stack.
