Bobrick 318 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How many towels does the Bobrick B-318 hold, and what fold does it take?
It takes folded towels only: 600 C-fold or 800 multifold per load. That is a high-capacity load for a restroom dispenser, so in moderate-traffic washrooms it cuts refill trips. It will not run roll towel of any kind.
2) Can the B-318 be mounted behind a mirror or a wall so only the tray shows?
That is exactly how it is designed to sit. The cabinet recesses into the wall or behind a mirror and only the towel tray is exposed on the finished face. Towels load in through the bottom of the concealed cabinet, which is why the 6 inch clearance below the tray has to be kept free.
3) Is the Bobrick B-318 towel dispenser ADA compliant?
The B-318 is listed as ADA compliant. Compliance on the job still depends on where you set it: the reach range to the tray is determined by your mounting height, so set the tray so the dispensing point falls within the accessible reach range for the fixture group it serves.
4) What is the B-318 dispenser made of, and will it hold up in a high-traffic public restroom?
Stainless steel with a satin finish. Satin stainless is the standard specification for commercial and institutional washrooms because it resists corrosion from cleaners and humidity and does not show wear the way painted steel does. It also matches the satin stainless finish used across most other Bobrick washroom accessories, so it blends into an existing fitout.
5) Is the B-318 manual or does it need power?
Manual, no power and no batteries. There is no electrical rough-in to coordinate, which is one reason it works in a recessed retrofit where running a circuit into the wall cavity is not practical.
6) Does the B-318 come in more than one finish?
One finish only: satin stainless steel. There is no mirror-polish or painted version of this model.
