Bobrick 47064-17 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which Bobrick units does the B-47064-17 skirt kit fit?
The B-47064-17 skirt is made for recessed Bobrick B-4706 Series units. It is sized to a cabinet depth of 5 9/16 inches, so it belongs on that series and not on a deeper or shallower recessed cabinet.
2) What does a skirt kit actually do on a recessed washroom accessory?
It adapts a unit built for full recessing so it can be mounted semi-recessed or surface mounted instead. The 2 inch skirt on the B-47064-17 lets a B-4706 Series cabinet project out of the wall rather than sitting fully inside it, which is how you get a recessed-style unit onto a wall that won't take the full 5 9/16 inch cabinet depth.
3) I have a shallow stud wall and can't recess a Bobrick B-4706 cabinet fully. Will this solve it?
That's exactly the case it covers. With the 2 inch skirt installed, the B-4706 Series unit sits semi-recessed, so only part of the 5 9/16 inch cabinet depth has to go into the wall cavity. Measure your available cavity depth against that 5 9/16 inch figure before committing.
4) Do I need a different skirt if I want to surface mount instead of semi-recess?
Skirts in this family are used to adapt recessed equipment to either semi-recessed or surface mounted, and the depth of the skirt is what sets the result. The B-47064-17 is the 2 inch skirt for a 5 9/16 inch deep B-4706 Series cabinet, which gives a semi-recessed installation. A full surface-mount conversion on that same cabinet needs a skirt deep enough to cover the entire cabinet depth.
5) Is the B-47064-17 a complete washroom unit or just the trim?
Just the trim. It is a replacement skirt kit only, no dispenser or receptacle included. You need the recessed B-4706 Series unit itself, which is ordered separately.
6) Can I use this skirt to repair a damaged Bobrick installation without pulling the whole cabinet?
It is sold as a replacement kit, so a dented or damaged skirt on an existing semi-recessed B-4706 Series installation can be swapped for a new one. Confirm the existing skirt is the 2 inch depth, since a skirt of another depth on the same cabinet would change how far the unit projects from the wall.
7) Is the skirt welded together at the corners or formed in one piece?
One piece. The B-47064-17 skirt is drawn and beveled seamless construction, so there are no corner welds or joints to collect grime or come apart in a high-traffic restroom. That matters for institutional and hospitality facilities where the washroom gets cleaned hard and often.
