The B-822-81 is the retaining nut for Bobrick lavatory mounted soap dispensers, and it fits soap dispenser models B-822, B-8226, B-8221 and B-82216. If your dispenser is one of those four, this is the correct nut. Any other Bobrick dispenser series is not covered by it.
2) My Bobrick soap dispenser is spinning loose on the sink deck. Is the nut the part I need?
On a deck mounted Bobrick dispenser, the retaining nut is what clamps the body down through the lavatory hole from underneath. If the dispenser rotates or lifts on the deck, a missing, stripped or backed-off nut is the usual cause, and the 822-81 is the replacement for that nut on the B-822, B-8226, B-8221 and B-82216. The pump and spout assembly are separate parts.
3) Can I use the Bobrick 822-81 retaining nut on a wall mounted or partition mounted soap dispenser?
No. The 822-81 is mounting hardware for sink mounted dispensers only, the ones that drop through a hole in the lavatory deck. Wall and partition mounted Bobrick soap dispensers use their own mounting hardware and this nut does not apply to them.
