Bobrick 8231-35 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which Bobrick soap dispensers does the B-8231-35 bottle and cap kit fit?
The B-8231-35 replacement container and cap is made for the Bobrick counter mounted soap dispensers, models B-8231 and B-82316. It is not a universal bottle, so if the dispenser in your counter is a different Bobrick model or another brand, this kit will not be the right replacement.
2) Does the B-8231-35 kit come with the pump or spout, or just the bottle?
What you get is the soap container and its cap. The cap is high-impact-resistant plastic and the bottle is translucent polyethylene. The dispenser head, spout and pump mechanism above the counter are not part of this kit, so if the pump itself has failed, this is not the part that fixes it.
3) How much soap does the Bobrick B-8231-35 container hold?
Capacity is 20 fluid ounces (1.0 liter). For a restroom with heavy traffic, that is the figure to use when you work out how often the housekeeping crew has to top it off, and it is the same capacity as the original bottle supplied with the B-8231 dispenser.
4) Is the B-8231-35 a foam soap bottle or a liquid soap bottle?
It is the foam soap container and cap assembly for Bobrick's counter mounted foam dispensers B-8231 and B-82316. Fill it with foam-formulated soap; liquid hand soap put through a foam dispenser head will not pump correctly.
5) Is this a counter mounted or wall mounted soap dispenser part?
Counter mounted. The B-8231-35 is the under-counter refill bottle and cap for Bobrick's deck mounted foam soap dispensers, so it sits below the lavatory deck with the spout coming up through the countertop. Wall mounted Bobrick soap dispensers take different refill parts.
6) Can staff see how much soap is left without pulling the bottle out?
Yes. The container is translucent polyethylene, so the soap level is visible from under the counter without unscrewing anything. For a property manager running a route of restrooms, that is the difference between checking fill levels at a glance and opening every cabinet.
7) Is the Bobrick B-8231-35 bottle glass or plastic, and will it survive a drop under a sink?
Plastic, not glass. The bottle is shatter-resistant polyethylene and the black cap is high-impact-resistant plastic, which is what you want in a public washroom cabinet where the container gets knocked around during refills.
