Bobrick 8221-45 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which Bobrick soap dispensers does the B-8221-45 bottle fit?
The B-8221-45 replacement container and cap is made for Bobrick counter-mounted liquid soap dispensers, model B-8221 and B-82216. If the dispenser on your counter is a different Bobrick model, this bottle is not the refill container for it.
2) Does the B-8221-45 come with the cap, or is that ordered separately?
Both. It ships as a bottle and cap kit: the translucent polyethylene container plus the black high-impact-resistant plastic cap. You do not need to order the cap as a separate line.
3) Does ordering the B-8221-45 replace the chrome dispenser head too?
No. This is the under-counter reservoir and cap only. The bright polished chrome spout and pump assembly that sits on top of the deck stays in place; order the B-8221-45 when the bottle is cracked, cloudy, or the cap is lost, not when the pump itself has failed.
4) How much soap does the Bobrick B-8221-45 container hold?
Capacity is 20 fluid ounces (0.6 L). For a restroom that runs through soap fast, that refill interval is what drives how often housekeeping has to get under the counter, so higher traffic washrooms often get a larger under-counter reservoir instead.
5) Can staff tell when the soap is low without pulling the bottle out?
Yes. The container is translucent polyethylene, so the soap level is visible at a glance under the counter. That is the main reason property managers keep the OEM bottle rather than substituting an opaque jug on refill routes.
6) Is the Bobrick bottle glass or plastic?
Plastic. The container is shatter-resistant polyethylene and the cap is high-impact-resistant plastic, which is what you want under a sink in a school or public restroom where a dropped container would otherwise break.
