Bobrick 824-525 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What comes in the Bobrick B-824-525 top housing assembly?
The B-824-525 replacement top housing ships as a complete assembly: spout, door, stem, duckbill housing, and an installation hardware packet. That is the whole above-counter portion of the dispenser, so a maintenance tech replacing a damaged or vandalized spout does not need to source the small parts separately. The pump and reservoir below the deck are not part of it.
2) Which Bobrick soap dispenser does the 824-525 top housing fit?
It is the replacement top housing for the Bobrick B-824 SureFlo counter mounted automatic liquid soap dispenser. That is the only model it is specified for, so if the unit on the deck is a different Bobrick series the part will not be the right one.
3) How thick a countertop can the SureFlo B-824 spout stem handle?
The stem is integral to the spout and accommodates counter tops up to 2 inches (50mm) thick. Stone, solid surface, and built-up laminate decks in that range are fine; a thicker slab is outside what the stem reaches through.
4) Can you refill a Bobrick B-824 SureFlo dispenser from the top of the counter?
Yes, and that is the point of this housing. It has an oversized funnel shaped opening under a lid that rotates 180 degrees, so a custodian fills from above the deck without going into the cabinet. The lid uses a concealed locking mechanism, which keeps the fill point secure in public restrooms.
5) Do I have to replace the whole SureFlo soap dispenser if the spout is broken off?
No. The B-824-525 is sold as a service part precisely so the above-counter assembly can be renewed on its own, spout, door, stem, duckbill housing and mounting hardware included, leaving the existing B-824 pump and under-counter reservoir in place. For a facility running the same dispenser across many restrooms, that keeps a vandalism repair to one part rather than a full unit.
6) What finish and material is the Bobrick 824-525 spout?
Bright polished chrome plated ABS plastic, and that is the only finish it is built in. It matches the standard chrome SureFlo spout, so a single damaged unit in a row of lavatories can be swapped without the replacement standing out.
7) Does the Bobrick 824-525 include the duckbill valve, or is that ordered separately?
The duckbill housing comes with the assembly. If soap is weeping or the dispense has gone erratic at the spout, replacing the top housing renews that part of the dispense path along with the spout and stem.
