1) Will the Bobrick 828-525 top housing fit my B-828 counter mounted soap dispenser?
It fits the B-828 and B-8281 SureFlo counter mounted automatic foam soap dispensers, but only the Series C version of those units. If the dispenser in your counter is an earlier series, this top housing will not work on it. Check the series before ordering.
2) How thick a countertop will the Bobrick 828-525 spout stem reach through?
The spout has an integral stem that accommodates counter tops up to 2 inches (50mm) thick. That covers typical solid surface and stone vanity tops in commercial restrooms; anything thicker than 2 inches is out of range for this stem.
3) Will this top housing work on a liquid SureFlo dispenser rather than a foam one?
No. The 828-525 is the foam version and carries a foam mixer housing, and it is stated as compatible only with Series C SureFlo foam soap dispensers. A liquid soap SureFlo needs its own matching top housing.
4) Our SureFlo dispenser is dispensing liquid instead of foam. Is replacing the top housing the fix?
The foam mixer housing is part of this 828-525 assembly, so if the mixer is what failed, replacing the top housing addresses it. It also covers a cracked spout, a broken fill door, or a damaged stem. What it does not cover is anything below the deck, the pump and reservoir side of the dispenser, so diagnose whether the fault is above or below the counter first.
5) Is the Bobrick SureFlo 828-525 spout metal or plastic?
Bright polished chrome plated ABS plastic. The chrome finish matches the original SureFlo spout, so a single replacement will not look out of place next to untouched dispensers on the same run of counter.
6) Can our attendants top fill the soap through this housing, or does it have to be refilled from under the counter?
Top filling is what this housing is built for. It has an oversized funnel shaped opening under a lid that rotates 180 degrees, with a concealed locking mechanism, so staff open the lid, pour bulk foam soap in from above, and close it without going into the cabinet below. That is the detail that matters for high traffic restrooms where under-counter access is blocked by plumbing.
7) Is the 828-525 a whole soap dispenser or just a replacement part?
It is a service part, not a complete dispenser. Bobrick sells it as the replacement top housing for a Series C SureFlo foam unit already installed in a counter. If you need a new dispenser for a new opening, order the B-828 or B-8281 dispenser itself.
8) Do I need extra mounting hardware to install the Bobrick 828-525 through the counter?
An installation hardware packet is included with the assembly, so the fasteners needed to secure it through the deck come in the box. Plan only for the soap and any tubing connection to the existing under-counter pump.
