Bobrick 858-225 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the Bobrick B-858-225 in polished chrome, a complete dispenser or just a part?
It's a replacement part, not a whole dispenser. The B-858-225 is the top housing assembly for a liquid soap dispenser, finished in polished chrome. You order it when the existing housing is damaged, vandalized, or worn and the rest of the unit is still serviceable.
2) Is the Bobrick 858-225 top housing for liquid soap or for powdered soap dispensers?
Liquid. Bobrick builds separate top housings for liquid and powdered soap versions of its dispensers, and the 858-225 is the liquid one in polished chrome. If the unit on the wall dispenses powder, this housing is the wrong part.
3) How do I order the right Bobrick soap dispenser top housing for a repair?
Go by the model number on the part, not the dispenser. The polished chrome liquid top housing is Bobrick model 858-225. Bobrick part numbers are finish- and soap-type-specific, so a chrome liquid housing is a different number from a satin or powdered version.
4) Will a polished chrome soap dispenser housing match the other washroom accessories in my building?
Polished chrome is a bright, mirror-like finish. It matches other polished chrome washroom accessories but will stand out next to satin stainless or brushed nickel trim, which is the more common commercial finish. For a facility standardized on satin stainless, this chrome housing is a visible mismatch.
