1) Is the Metallics JG8HC331 hex bolt a fine thread or coarse thread 1/2 inch bolt?
Fine thread. The JG8HC331 is a 1/2-20 bolt, 20 threads per inch, so it mates with 1/2-20 UNF nuts and tapped holes only. If the hole or nut on your assembly is 1/2-13 coarse, this bolt will not thread in and you need the coarse version instead. Overall fastener length is 2 inches.
