Rated at 60,000 psi minimum tensile and 36,000 psi minimum yield, with a hardness of Rockwell B70 to B100. That is standard low carbon steel bolt strength, suitable for the electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning support work it is sold for. For structural connections or anything calling out a high strength grade on the drawing, specify a graded bolt instead.
2) Do Metallics JCB2 carriage bolts qualify for a Buy American or ARRA funded project?
No. The JCB2 is listed as not Buy American compliant and not ARRA compliant, with country of origin recorded as MUL (multiple sources). For federally funded work carrying domestic sourcing requirements, you need a fastener with a documented domestic origin.
