1) Will a 1/4-20 x 5-1/2 inch bolt clear the material thickness I am bolting through?
At 5-1/2 inches overall length with a 0.237 to 0.260 inch shank diameter, the JBHC53 passes through a 1/4 inch clearance hole and gives you a long grip, which is what you want when you are stacking strut, blocking, or going through a wall assembly. Remember the 5-1/2 inches is bolt length under the head, so your combined material plus washers plus nut has to come in under that to get full nut engagement.
2) Do Metallics JBHC53 hex bolts meet Buy American or ARRA requirements for a federal job?
