The SBH9845 is 18-8 stainless steel, an austenitic alloy suited to general atmospheric corrosion resistance, so it holds up in normal outdoor, damp, and washdown service and in chemical and food-processing equipment. It is not the grade for salt spray or aggressive chemical attack. For marine or chloride exposure, specify 316 stainless instead, which Metallics also builds this hex bolt line in.

Tensile strength on this 18-8 stainless hex bolt is rated 85,000 to 140,000 psi minimum with a 45,000 psi minimum yield, and hardness runs Rockwell B80-C32. That puts it below a medium-carbon Grade 5 or Grade 8 structural bolt. Pick stainless here for corrosion resistance, not for maximum clamp load; if the connection is load-critical and dry, a higher-grade carbon steel bolt is the better structural choice.

Head width across flats measures 1.100 to 1.125 inches, so a 1-1/8 inch wrench or socket fits. Across corners the head runs 1.254 to 1.299 inches, which matters if you are working inside a tight pocket or counterbore. Head height is 15/32 inch, with a wrenching height of 0.324 inch.

These ship as a box of 50 pieces, and 50 each is the order minimum, so the box is the smallest unit. Other sizes and quantities are available by request if 2-1/2 inch length or a 50-count box does not match the job.
