1) Is the Metallics SBH672 bolt 18-8 or 316 stainless?
316 stainless steel. That is the molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade, which holds up better in corrosive and chloride environments than 18-8 and keeps more strength at elevated temperature. If you are bolting outdoors, on a roof, near coastal air or in a wet mechanical room, 316 is the grade you want.
2) What is the tensile and yield strength of the Metallics 316 stainless hex bolt?
Minimum tensile is 100,000 to 150,000 psi with a 65,000 psi minimum yield, and hardness runs Rockwell B95 to C32. Those are typical austenitic stainless cap screw values, not Grade 5 or Grade 8 steel numbers. If a drawing calls for SAE Grade 8 or ASTM A325 structural bolting, a 316 stainless bolt is not a substitute, spec the steel bolt instead.
3) Are Metallics SBH672 bolts Buy American or ARRA compliant for a federal job?
No on both counts. These bolts are not Buy American compliant and not ARRA compliant, with country of origin listed as multiple. If your contract carries Buy American or ARRA domestic-content language, these will not satisfy it and you need a documented domestic-source fastener.
4) Do these stainless hex bolts come with nuts and washers?
No. The SBH672 ships as bolts only, boxed, so order 5/8-11 hex nuts and 5/8 washers separately. Keep them in 316 stainless too, mixing a plain steel nut onto a stainless bolt in a wet location sets up galvanic corrosion and defeats the reason you chose 316.
