That's the intended use. The JG5HTB71 is a medium carbon steel cap screw, heat treated to Rockwell C19-30, with 105,000 psi minimum tensile and 105,000 psi minimum yield. Grade 5 is the normal choice for motor mounts, machinery bases, and automotive and truck repair work. If your drawing calls out Grade 8 or a higher proof load, Grade 5 is not a substitute.

The finish is zinc plating over steel, which handles indoor and sheltered outdoor service. It is not stainless. For continuous wet, coastal, or washdown exposure, go to 18-8 stainless or a hot dip galvanized bolt instead, since zinc plate is a thin sacrificial coating and will eventually rust through in standing moisture.

For motor feet and machine frames where you are threading into cast or tapped holes, the full thread tap bolt is the usual call.

Medium carbon steel to AISI 1008-1026, heat treated after forming. That heat treatment is what takes it to Rockwell C19-30 and the Grade 5 strength numbers; an untreated low carbon bolt of the same size would be well below it.
