Metallics JMSBHC1430 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Are these M14 bolts stainless steel or zinc plated?
Stainless steel, not plated carbon. That matters for outdoor, damp, or washdown work where a zinc-plated bolt would bloom rust, and it means you should pair them with stainless nuts and washers to avoid mixing metals at the joint.
2) How thick a material will an M14 x 30 bolt go through?
The 30 mm shank length is what you have to work with, so your combined grip (both plates plus washers) needs to be comfortably under 30 mm to leave thread for the nut. For thicker stacks, step up to a longer M14 in the same hex bolt line rather than forcing this one.
3) How many bolts come in a jar of Metallics JMSBHC1430?
One hundred M14 x 30 stainless hex bolts per jar. The jar pack is the shop-counter format, so if you need a few hundred for a run of strut or equipment mounting you're buying in multiples of 100.
4) Will a standard SAE wrench fit these bolts, or do I need metric tools?
Metric. M14 x 30 is a metric thread, so the nuts thread metric and the hex head takes a metric socket. If your crew only carries SAE sockets, plan for metric before the bolts show up on site.
5) Do these M14 x 30 bolts come with nuts and washers?
No. The jar is 100 hex bolts only, so order M14 stainless hex nuts and flat or lock washers separately to complete the assembly.
6) What is the Metallics part number for the M14 x 30 stainless hex bolt in a 100-count jar?
JMSBHC1430. That's the number to quote for the M14 x 30 stainless hex bolt supplied 100 to a jar.
