Blackburn FBD12-1 BONDING JUMPER 600AMP 12IN LONG

The Blackburn FBD12-1 is a 600 amp bonding jumper, 12 inches long, built as a flat flexible tin-plated copper braid with a single bolt hole at each end. It is UL listed under file E3060 and CSA certified under LR29625.

That is exactly what a flat flexible braid is for. The FBD12-1 uses a flexible flat braid conductor rather than a solid or stranded cable, so it tolerates repeated movement between two bonded points, such as across an expansion or deflection fitting, at a conduit slip joint, or between a vibrating machine frame and grounded steel. The 12 inch length gives you slack for that movement.

It is a 1-hole flexible braid connector, so each end lands under a single bolt or stud at the point being bonded. The fasteners are not part of the jumper, so plan on hardware sized to your equipment ground pads, lugs, or busbar holes.

The braid is tin-plated copper, and the tin plating is there to slow corrosion and oxidation on the copper strands, which is why these are commonly used in damp electrical rooms, substations, and outdoor enclosures rather than bare copper braid.

Order it as Blackburn FBD12-1. In the FBD series naming, the 12 is the 12 inch length and the -1 is the single-hole termination, so a different length or a 2-hole pad is a different catalogue number.

Only where flexibility is what the joint needs. The FBD12-1 is a 600 amp rated flexible flat braid intended to bond across a movable or separated joint over a short 12 inch span. A fixed run of grounding electrode conductor or equipment grounding conductor sized to the circuit per the NEC table is still a cable or busbar job, not a braid jumper.
