1) Does the Greenlee 611 piston work with a vacuum, or only a blower?
Either. The 611 is a foam piston that seals against the conduit wall, so it can be pushed by a blower or drawn by a vacuum power fishing system to pioneer a line through the run.
2) How do you attach the pull line to a Greenlee 611 piston?
There's a steel center rod through the foam body with a loop on each end. You tie your fish line or twine to the trailing loop, and the leading loop gives you a second tie-off point if you're pulling the piston back through the run.
3) Will the Greenlee 611 piston pull my actual wire through the conduit?
No. It's a pioneering tool, not a pulling tool. The piston carries a light line through the conduit on the air stream; you then use that line to pull in your pull rope, and the rope to pull the cable. Trying to load conductor weight on the piston itself is the wrong use.
4) How do I tell Greenlee foam pistons apart once they're in the tool bag?
Each one has a color-coded end disk with the size embossed on it, so you can pull the right size out of a mixed set of pistons without measuring. The 611 is the 1-1/4 inch.
