Bravura Tampa with Square Trim Dummy Leverset, Grade 2

A dummy lever is trim only. There's no latch, no cylinder, and the lever doesn't turn anything, so the Bravura Tampa dummy is what you put on a door leaf that doesn't latch: the inactive half of a double door, a closet or pantry door held by a ball catch or roller catch, or a false panel that needs a pull to match the rest of the openings. If the door has to stay shut on its own, you need a passage set instead, not the dummy.

For a like-for-like non-functioning lever, the Callan Bentley dummy lever is the nearest match: it is also a Grade 2 dummy leverset, so the trim style differs while the grade and function line up with the Tampa. No cylinder goes in a dummy lever, so it can't be keyed and it can't be part of a keyed-alike set. If you need security on that opening, order an entrance or storeroom function set instead, or pair a passage-style opening with a separate deadbolt. It's reversible, so the same set works on a left or right hand door without ordering a hand. You set the lever orientation at install rather than specifying it on the order.

The Tampa is built to Grade 2 on the internal mechanics but is classed as residential, which suits apartments, condos, and single family rentals. For a commercial corridor or an institutional building where the spec calls for commercial duty trim, look at a heavy duty dummy like the BEST 9K Series 1DT, which is Grade 1 heavy duty, or the medium duty Grade 2 BEST 7KC Series single dummy trim.

The Tampa dummy is the non-latching counterpart, so the active leaf still needs a functioning set. If you want a family where the dummy, passage, and privacy all share one trim design, the Baldwin Estate 5103 with the 5048 rose is sold as a half dummy (left or right hand), a passage lever, and a privacy lever. Grade 2 commercial equivalents include the Accentra 5301LN Augusta passage and the Hager 2510 passage lever.

One Tampa dummy covers one side of one leaf. A double door with a lever on each face of the inactive leaf takes two. Some brands sell the pair as a single item instead, for example the Emtek Arts & Crafts and Cortina dummies are catalogued as pairs, so count faces before ordering rather than assuming the quantity carries over between brands.

Grade is a durability and strength rating, and the Tampa is built to Grade 2 on the internal mechanics, a step above the Grade 3 residential levers such as the Callan Asheville or the Kwikset 200BRNL Breton. On a dummy the operating cycles matter less than on a latching set, so the practical difference is mostly build and feel rather than mechanism life.

The Bravura Tampa dummy is Grade 2 with a solid brass build. Within the dummy group the alternatives run heavier rather than lighter - the BEST 7KC Series single dummy trim is Grade 2 medium duty and the Accentra 455LN Augusta is Grade 1 heavy duty.
