The Burndy 1PLD44 is an aluminum multiple tap connector from the UNITAP™ line, built with a UV-rated black housing for long-term outdoor durability. This double-sided entry (2-sided) connector provides 4 ports for splicing and tapping runs, accepting copper conductors from #14 AWG to 4 AWG and aluminum conductors from 8 AWG to 4 AWG. An oxide inhibitor is pre-installed at the factory, saving installers a field application step and helping protect the connection against corrosion. As a mechanical connector, the 1PLD44 is intended for splicing and tapping applications where a bolted, multi-port aluminum body is preferred over a compression or insulation-piercing style connection.
