1) Can I use a Bussmann JJN Class T fuse on a 480V system?
No. The JJN Series is rated 300VAC/160VDC, so it cannot be applied on a 480V circuit. Use it on 240V and 208V three-phase distribution, control panels, and DC buses up to 160V. For 480V or 600V applications you need the 600V Class T family, not the JJN.
2) Is a Class T fuse the right choice for protecting a VFD line side?
It is one of the standard choices. The JJN is current limiting and very fast acting, which is what a drive's input rectifier and DC bus capacitors need, since they fail faster than a time delay fuse will clear. A dual element time delay fuse is the better pick on an across-the-line motor starter where inrush would nuisance blow a fast acting fuse. Check the drive manufacturer's recommended fuse table, because many VFDs specifically call out Class T or Class J.
3) How does a JJN fuse mount, and will it drop into a standard fuse block?
The JJN uses a bolted blade end on both ends, so it bolts through the blade into a Class T fuse block rather than clipping in. It will not fit ferrule or knife blade clips. You need a Class T block or holder sized for the same voltage class and amp range as the fuse you are ordering, since Class T mounting centers change with the amp bracket.
