Cahaba CAFSTHAL59-W CAFSTHAL59-W Hallie 59 in. Freestanding Acrylic Tub

The Hallie CAFSTHAL59-W is a soaking tub. There are no jets, no blower, and no pump, so it needs no electrical rough-in or access panel for equipment. If the spec on the job calls for hydrotherapy, air or whirlpool, this is the wrong tub.

Plan on specifying the drain. Cahaba publishes a separate tub drain document for the Hallie, which tells you the waste and overflow is handled as its own item rather than being part of the tub assembly. Have the freestanding drain kit and the finish you want on the order before the plumber sets the tub, because the floor penetration has to be located to it.

Acrylic. That keeps the tub light enough for two people to carry and set in most cases, unlike a cast iron freestanding tub of the same size, and acrylic holds heat better than enameled steel for a soaker. It also means you protect the surface during the rest of the trim-out, since acrylic scratches more easily than porcelain over iron.

A freestanding acrylic tub like the Hallie has no deck ledge drilled for a filler, so the water supply has to come from the floor or the wall, not from the tub. Most installs use a floor-mounted freestanding tub filler set on its own rough-in, which has to be located before the slab or subfloor is closed up. Set the filler position off the tub's 59 inch footprint so the spout clears the rim.

White only, which is the -W in the model number. There is no alternate shell color in the Hallie 59 inch, so if you are matching a suite of units across a property, every one you order will be the same white finish.
