1) Can I install this Cahaba apron front sink with a laminate countertop?
No. The CASS16AF3360 is an undermount sink, so it needs a solid surface top such as granite, quartz or solid wood that can be edge finished and support the sink from below. Standard laminate with a built up particleboard substrate is not suitable for an undermount installation. A cutout template and mounting hardware come in the box.
2) How deep are the bowls on the Cahaba CASS16AF3360 and will they clear my disposal and trap?
Both bowls are 10 inches deep, and the sink's overall height is 10 inches. The drains sit at the rear of each bowl, which pushes the tailpiece and trap toward the back wall of the cabinet and leaves usable storage in front. With a 10 inch bowl plus a disposal you are tight on a standard 34-1/2 inch high base, so check your drain line height before you commit.
3) Can I use this Cahaba sink in a restaurant or other commercial kitchen?
No. Cahaba states the CASS16AF3360 is made for residential use only and should not be used in commercial applications. For an apartment, condo or single family remodel it is fine; for a food service build you need a commercial rated sink.
4) What comes in the box with the CASS16AF3360, and what do I still need to buy?
Drain assembly, mounting hardware and a cutout template are included. Not included: an overflow drain, a basin rack, the faucet, the P-trap and supply lines, and silicone or sink setting compound for the rim. If you want bottom grids to protect the 16 gauge satin finish, those are a separate purchase.
5) Does this apron front sink need a special farmhouse cabinet?
The apron is exposed, so the sink base front has to be modified or ordered as a farm sink base. You cut back the top rail and door area so the 32-7/8 inch wide apron face shows, then support the sink on a shelf or cleats inside a 36 inch minimum cabinet. The undermount rear flange fastens up to the solid surface top as normal.
6) Does the Cahaba CASS16AF3360 have faucet holes?
No holes are punched in the sink. It is an undermount, so the faucet and any soap dispenser or air switch get drilled in the countertop or mounted on the deck behind the sink. Decide your faucet layout with the fabricator before the top is cut.
7) Is 16 gauge stainless worth it over a thinner sink for a rental turn?
For a unit you plan to hold, yes. The CASS16AF3360 is 16 gauge 304 series 18/10 chrome nickel stainless, which is heavier than the 18 or 20 gauge sinks common in builder grade kitchens, so it dents less under a dropped pot and flexes less at the mounting clips.
