1) Will the Camden CX-LED annunciator plate run on my 12V door control power supply?
The CX-LED plates operate on 12 or 24 VDC, so a standard low voltage access control supply drives them directly. Budget 7 mA per LED at 12 V and 17 mA per LED at 24 V. On the two-LED version that is 14 mA at 12 V or 34 mA at 24 V if both are lit, which is negligible against most supply headroom.
2) Does the Camden CX-LED plate fit a standard single gang electrical box?
It is a single gang faceplate, measuring 4-1/2 x 2-3/4 x 1-1/2 inches (114 x 70 x 38.1mm). The 1-1/2 inch figure is the depth behind the plate, so the box you mount it to has to be deep enough to take it plus your wiring.
3) Should I order the one LED or the two LED Camden CX-LED plate for a restroom in use indicator?
Two choices exist: a single red LED, or one red plus one green. For a restroom or meeting room where staff need to see both states at a glance (vacant versus occupied, or unlocked versus secured), the red/green pair is the one to spec. The single red is for a one-condition annunciation, such as door held open or alarm active. Both use 1/2 inch (12.7mm) LEDs.
4) Is the Camden CX-LED a switch or a button, or just an indicator?
Indicator only. The CX-LED is an annunciator plate, it lights to show the status of something else in the system and has no switching contacts of its own. You still need the actual device driving the signal, such as a relay output, a door position switch, or a lock output from your controller. If you want a push to exit or a push button on the same opening, that is a separate plate.
5) Will the Camden CX-LED faceplate hold up in a public restroom or school corridor?
The faceplate is heavy gauge brushed stainless steel, which is the right call for public washrooms, corridors and other high traffic institutional spaces where a plastic plate gets abused. It is a commercial rated product, not a residential one.
