Camden Door Controls CX-MA1213 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Do I need an L and Z bracket, or can I surface mount the mag lock directly?
You only need the L and Z set when the door geometry will not let the lock and armature face each other on a flat surface. An inswing door with the lock on the stop side normally surface mounts straight to the header. An outswing door, or a frame with no usable header face, is where the Z bracket brings the armature out to meet the magnet and the L bracket hangs the magnet off the header. Confirm the swing before deciding.
