1) What voltage does the Camden SureWave CM-332 touchless switch run on, and can I power it off my existing door operator?
The CM-332 is line powered and accepts 12VAC/DC, 24VDC or 24VAC, so it can be fed from the accessory power output on most low voltage operators or access control power supplies. Current draw is 40 mA, which is light enough that it rarely upsets an existing power budget. Its relay contacts are rated 3 amps at 30 V.
2) Why would I choose the 2 relay CM-332 instead of a single relay touchless switch?
Two relays let one wave do two jobs at once, which is the usual reason to spec it: one relay releases the electric strike or mag lock while the second triggers the automatic operator, or one drives the door and the other signals the access control panel. The relays are multi function with Event and Toggle operating modes, so each can be set for a momentary pulse or a latching on/off action. If you only need a single dry contact to fire an operator, a one relay switch covers it.
3) Will the CM-332 touchless switch fit a standard single gang electrical box?
Yes. The /44 faceplate comes in single gang, narrow, and double gang sizes, so you can match whatever back box is already in the wall. Pick narrow when you are mounting on a door jamb or a mullion that will not take a full single gang plate, and double gang where an existing two gang box is being reused.
4) Can the Camden CM-332 be mounted outside at an exterior entrance?
No. The CM-332 is rated for indoor commercial use only. For a weather exposed push side actuator you need an outdoor rated wave switch or a sealed push plate instead.
5) Does the CM-332 have the wheelchair symbol required for a barrier free entrance?
The /44 faceplate is printed with both a hand icon and the wheelchair symbol, which is the marking barrier free door actuators are normally specified with. Pairing it with the tri-color light ring gives a visual cue that the wave was registered.
6) What does the tri-color light ring option on the CM-332 actually do?
The plug-in light ring illuminates red, green or blue and can be driven by the switch itself or remotely from the access control side, so it can show locked/unlocked status rather than just activation. It is available for single gang, double gang and 6 inch round stainless faceplates. Choose it at time of order; every faceplate size and both finishes are offered with or without it.
7) Can I wire a request to exit device and a door position switch into the CM-332?
Both inputs are on board. The CM-332 accepts REX and DPS connections, so a second exit device can trigger the same relay output and the door contact can tell the switch when the door has closed. That lets the hold open timer reset on door position instead of running the full time out on every activation.
8) Is the CM-332 fail safe or fail secure when power drops?
Field selectable. You set the relay for fail safe or fail secure operation at install, which means the same switch works on a fail safe mag lock opening and on a fail secure electric strike opening without ordering a different part.

It uses an active infrared sensor that reads a hand in the air in front of the plate, with no contact required.
