Metallics CAGBLK1 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics CAGBLK1 coaxial grommet used for?
The CAGBLK1 is a feed-through coaxial grommet: it lines the hole where coax passes through a wall, floor, or panel so the cable is not run against a bare edge. The cable feeds straight through the grommet rather than terminating in it, so it is a pass-through part, not a connector or a splice.
2) Is the CAGBLK1 a coax connector or fitting that terminates the cable?
No. It's a grommet for feeding coax through an opening, so the cable continues on through it. If you need to terminate the run you still need an F-connector or a coax wall plate; the grommet only protects and dresses the penetration.
3) How many versions of the Metallics CAGBLK1 grommet are there, and what do I order?
One configuration only. Order it by model and part number CAGBLK1 from Metallics, with no size, color, or finish choice to specify.
