1) Will the Cooper CR20V 5-20R receptacle accept a standard 15 amp plug as well as 20 amp cords?
Yes. The CR20V is a NEMA 5-20R duplex, rated 20A at 125V. The 5-20R face has the T-slot neutral, so it takes both straight-blade 15A plugs and 20A plugs with the perpendicular neutral blade. Put it on a 20A branch circuit; a single 5-20R should not be fed from a 15A circuit.
2) What wire gauge can I land on the Cooper CR20V, and does it take back wiring?
It accepts #14 to #10 AWG copper. Terminations are screw type with side wiring, so conductors wrap the side screws rather than pushing into a back-wire clamp. A screw-catch feature keeps the terminal screws from backing out during rough-in.

The CR20V is auto-grounding, so the mounting strap bonds the device to a grounded metal box through the yoke and screw when it is flush mounted. If you are installing in a nonmetallic box or an ungrounded box, you still land the equipment grounding conductor on the green terminal.
4) Is the CR20V a GFCI or tamper resistant receptacle?
No. It is a standard two-pole, three-wire straight blade duplex with screw terminals and auto-grounding. There is no GFCI protection and no tamper resistant shutter listed, so for a kitchen, bath, rooftop or outdoor location requiring GFCI, or a space requiring TR devices, specify a different receptacle or protect the circuit at the breaker.
5) Is the CR20V heavy duty enough for an office, school or retail space, or do I need a hospital grade device?
It is a commercial specification grade device intended for commercial applications, with brass contacts and a high-impact nylon and PVC face and body. That is the normal choice for offices, classrooms, corridors and retail. Hospital grade is a separate rating for patient care areas and this device is not identified as hospital grade.
