Delaney 6" Door Knocker with 160 Degree Viewer

The viewer is built into the knocker. It is a combined unit with a 160 degree viewer through the center, so you drill one hole for both the knocker body and the peep. No separate door viewer is needed.

Projection is 3/4 inch off the door face. That matters where a storm door or screen door swings close to the entry slab, or on a tight door jamb reveal, since anything with a deeper projection can foul the storm door. Overall the plate runs 6 inches by 3 inches.

The knocker plate measures 6 by 3 inches, so you need a flat, uninterrupted 6 inch tall by 3 inch wide area of door face plus room to bore the viewer hole through the center. On a full-lite glass front door or a narrow stile there is usually not enough flat rail or stile to land it. Panel doors and flush slabs are where it goes.

One finish: 613, satin bronze oil-rubbed. If you are matching entry sets, hinges and handlesets across a building, 613 is the standard BHMA number for oil-rubbed bronze, so it will line up with other hardware specified as 613.

Forged brass. That is the reason it holds up on an exterior entry door where a plated steel knocker tends to rust through at the strike plate once the coating chips.

160 degrees covers nearly the full approach to the opening, so a person standing off to one side of the jamb is still in view rather than hidden in a blind spot. For multi-family and rental units that is the practical reason to spec a wide-angle viewer over a basic narrow one.

A combined unit saves a second bore and keeps the entry face clean, which is why property managers use it on apartment and rental entries. Install them separately when the door already has a viewer at a set height you want to keep, or when the occupant needs the peep at a different height than a 6 inch knocker plate would place it.
