1) Does the Delaney Katana dummy handleset have a working latch, or is it just the exterior plate and handle?
No latch. Dummy function means the Katana handleset is a fixed pull with no operating latch or bolt behind it, used as the counterpart to a functioning set on the other leaf of a double door, or on a door that is held shut by other means. Nothing retracts when you press the thumbpiece, and there's no strike prep to cut. If you need a set that actually latches the door, you want a keyed or passage handleset instead.
2) Will the Katana handleset fit my existing door holes, and what center-to-center spacing does it need?
The Katana handleset is laid out for 5.5 inch center-to-center between the holes in the door, which is the standard residential handleset spacing. If your current handleset measures 5.5 inches between bore centers, the Katana lines up on the existing prep. Measure the existing holes before you order, because handlesets that use other spacings will not drop into that prep.
3) What door thickness does the Delaney Katana handleset work on?
Up to a 2 inch thick door. That covers standard 1-3/4 inch commercial and residential entry doors as well as thicker custom and solid wood front doors, which is where a lot of handlesets run out of screw length.
4) I only need the outside handle, not the interior trim. Is that what the exterior-only Katana is?

Two pieces. The active leaf gets a functioning single cylinder handleset, and the inactive leaf gets the Katana dummy so both doors look identical from the street with no second lock cut into the fixed leaf. 6) What is a Grade 2 handleset alternative to the Delaney Katana dummy handleset?

The Katana in dummy function has no latch at all, so it cannot secure an opening; a single cylinder set is what an entry door that has to lock requires.
9) Is a passage lever the same thing as a dummy handleset?
No. The Schlage Residential F10 Accent lever is a passage function lock with a dual backset latch, Grade 2, and fits doors 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch thick; the Emtek Select brass conical stem dark walnut knob is also a passage function trim. A passage set has a working latch that holds the door closed without locking. The Delaney Katana in dummy function has no latch mechanism at all and is used as a counterpart to functioning hardware or where no latch is needed, so the two are not interchangeable on an opening that has to stay shut.
10) Is the Delaney Katana handleset rated for commercial use?
It's a residential product carrying an ANSI Grade 2 rating. Grade 2 is the middle residential and light commercial tier, above the Grade 3 builder-basic level. For an apartment or condo front door it's appropriate; for a high-traffic commercial opening on a spec that calls for Grade 1, it isn't the part.
11) What's the difference between the Delaney Katana dummy handleset and a Bravura or Callan handleset?
Function is the real difference. The Katana exterior-only dummy is a non-operating pull with no latch. 12) Can I swap a Delaney Katana handleset onto my door without redrilling?
If your door is already prepped for a handleset at 5.5 inch center-to-center and is no more than 2 inches thick, the Katana goes onto the existing prep. It's meant as a direct replacement for existing handleset hardware. What it will not do is fill a plain 2-1/8 inch single bore left by a knob or lever set, since a handleset needs the second hole for the lower assembly.
13) Is there a keyed cylinder in the exterior-only Katana dummy handleset?
No cylinder to key. The dummy is non-functioning trim, so there is no keyway, no cylinder and nothing to key alike into an existing system. If you're keying a front entry, you need a functioning single cylinder handleset instead, and the dummy is only for the leaf or door that doesn't lock.
