Delaney Plastic Closet Pole Socket, US1 White Finish

The 407400 is a closed cup socket in white nylon, 2-1/16 inches in diameter, that the rod end drops into. It supports the pole at the wall, it isn't a flange with an open top that lets you lift the rod out. If your install needs the rod removable without unscrewing anything, you want an open style socket instead.

Screws are included with the Delaney plastic closet pole socket. For a turnover or a punch list, that means no separate fastener line on the order. Note that the supplied screws are sized for wood or a solid backing; if you're mounting into hollow drywall with no stud or blocking behind it, you'll want your own anchors.

Nylon is the substrate here. It won't corrode or stain in a humid closet and it won't mar a painted pole, which is why it's a common choice for multi-family turnovers where every unit gets the same white socket. Where nylon isn't the right call is heavy commercial or institutional wardrobe duty with long unsupported spans and loaded rods, that's where a metal socket and a center support belong.

US1 is white. It's meant to disappear against a white-painted closet wall or shelf cleat rather than match a decorative finish like satin nickel or oil rubbed bronze on the door hardware. If you're standardizing a building, white sockets read consistently across units regardless of what the lever finish is.

Two, one at each end of the pole. The Delaney 407400 is a single socket, so a closet with one rod takes a pair. Ordering by unit count rather than by closet is the usual mistake on a multi-unit order, double your closet count.
