1) Will the Delta Breez Integrity ITG50 fit where my old bath fan was, and what duct does it need?
The ITG50 uses a 4 inch round duct connection, which is the most common size on existing residential bath fans, so in most retrofits the existing duct run reconnects without a transition. The housing is compact: 7-1/4 x 7-1/2 x 5-3/4 inches. Overall product dimensions are 10-3/4 inches wide, 9-3/8 inches deep, 5-3/4 inches high. Measure your existing ceiling opening against the housing before you cut anything.
2) Can the Delta Breez ITG50 be mounted in a wall instead of a ceiling?
Both work. The ITG50 is UL and cUL listed for ceiling and wall mount installations, so it is an option for a bath on a slab or a room with no attic above where the duct has to run out through the wall.
3) How quiet is the Delta Breez ITG50, and will tenants actually hear it?
0.7 sones at 0.1 inches static pressure, HVI certified. That is quiet enough that most people cannot tell it is running from the next room, which is why it works for continuous ventilation. On a longer or more restricted duct run at 0.25 static pressure the rating goes to 1.3 sones. Keep the duct short, smooth, and straight and you stay near the low end.
4) Can the Delta Breez ITG50 run continuously for whole-house ventilation?
That is what the brushless DC motor is for. It is engineered to run continuously for a minimum of 70,000 hours and outlasts a typical AC bath fan motor by about 2-1/2 times. Power draw is no more than 5.0 watts at the rated point, for an efficiency of 12.5 CFM per watt, so leaving it on around the clock costs very little.
5) What circuit and wiring does the Delta Breez ITG50 need?
Standard 120V, 60Hz power. Max current draw is 0.14 amps and wattage runs 5.0 to 7.0 depending on the static pressure it works against, so the fan itself is a negligible load on a bathroom circuit. The circuit has to be GFCI protected if the fan goes inside a tub or shower enclosure.
6) Is the Delta Breez ITG50 Energy Star qualified for a green building or utility rebate program?
Yes. The ITG50 is Energy Star qualified and was awarded ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2017, with a 12.5 CFM per watt efficiency rating. Airflow and loudness are certified by the Home Ventilating Institute, which is the certification most green building programs and rebate forms ask for.
7) Does the Delta Breez ITG50 have multiple speeds or a humidity sensor?
Single speed only, fixed at 50 CFM. There is no speed selector and no humidity or motion sensor built in. If you want the fan to come on by itself, control it externally with a humidistat or a timer switch on the branch circuit, or choose a sensor-equipped model instead.
