1) Does the Delta Breez SLM duct come with a backdraft damper or do I buy that separately?
The damper is included with the 3 inch plastic duct, so there is no separate backdraft damper to order for an SLM50, SLM70, SLM70D or SLM70H. That is the piece that keeps outside air, and the neighbouring unit's exhaust in a multifamily stack, from pushing back through the fan.
2) Which Delta Breez fans does this 3 inch plastic duct fit?
It fits the BreezSlim family: SLM50, SLM70, SLM70D and SLM70H. Those are the four models it is built for. It is not a universal duct connector, so don't order it for a Delta fan outside the BreezSlim line.
3) I'm replacing a broken duct connector on a BreezSlim fan already in the ceiling. Is this the right service part?
Yes, for BreezSlim. This is the replacement 3 inch plastic duct with damper for the SLM50, SLM70, SLM70D and SLM70H, ordered as model VFRU-19-01DA. You don't need to pull the whole fan to swap it out on a unit that is already installed and otherwise running.
4) Can a BreezSlim fan with this duct be mounted on a wall, or is it ceiling only?
Both. The BreezSlim is UL approved for ceiling or wall mount installation, so the 3 inch duct and damper work either orientation. Plan the discharge direction before you cut, since the duct run has to leave at 3 inch either way.
