Deltana FP155 Flush Pull, Rectangular, Stainless Steel, 4" x 2" x 1/2"

The FP155 body measures 4 x 2 x 1/2 inches, so the mortise has to take a 1/2 inch depth at a 4 by 2 inch opening. On a thin cabinet door or a hollow-core slab, check that you have that much material behind the face before you cut. If you don't, a shallower cup or a drop-ring style pull is the better route.

The Deltana FP155 is a plain rectangular stainless steel flush pull at 4" x 2" x 1/2" and carries no ligature-resistant design, so it belongs on ordinary sliding, pocket, and cabinet doors rather than on an opening written to that spec.

The Trimco 1059 is a drive-in flush cup pull. Drive-in construction means the pull seats into a bored hole and is driven home rather than set into a routed rectangular recess, which is faster on a repetitive run of cabinet or sliding doors. The Deltana FP155 is a rectangular 4" x 2" x 1/2" flush pull, so its prep is a rectangular pocket in the door face. If your crew is working off a drill rather than a router, the 1059 changes the prep; if the doors are already routed rectangular, the FP155 matches what is cut.

The FP155 is a fixed flush pull with a recessed 4" x 2" x 1/2" pocket, so it gives you a finger recess in the door face and nothing that projects. To draw a door back out once it is in the pocket you want a pull with a ring that swings out: the Trimco 1066/1067/1068 are drop-ring flush pulls, where the ring lies flat until you lift it and then gives you something to grip and pull. Use the drop-ring style on the leading edge of a pocket door, and the FP155 where a flat face and no moving part is what you want.

Stainless steel through the substrate, not a plated finish over a base metal. It ships in a brushed stainless finish. For exterior sliders, wash-down areas, or coastal work where a plated pull would eventually blister, that matters more than the look.

Deltana lists the FP155 as commercial. It's a stainless steel rectangular flush pull, so it holds up in multi-family corridors, offices, and light institutional openings as well as residential sliders.

Order by face, not by door. A flush pull like the FP155 is sold each, so a slider you operate from both sides takes two, one mortised into each face. A pocket door that only gets pulled from one side takes one. Barn doors and bypass sliders where the leading edge is exposed usually take a pair per leaf.

Depends on what the opening needs. For a straight mortised cup pull in another size, Trimco's 1060/1061 flush cup pulls or the larger 1111 Series cover the same job. Trimco's 1059 is a drive-in cup, which sets without a full mortise. If the door has to be pulled shut from inside the pocket, the Trimco 1066 Series drop-ring pull gives you a ring that folds flat. For a decorative residential pocket door, Baldwin's Estate 8601 pocket door pull comes in passage and dummy.

Pull only. It's a recessed handle for sliding, pocket, and cabinet doors, with no latch, no catch, and no locking function. If the opening needs to secure, you'll pair it with a separate pocket door lock or edge pull with a privacy latch.

Step up to the Trimco 1111 Series large flush cup pulls. The 1111 is a large-format flush cup pull, giving more finger room in the recess than the 4" x 2" x 1/2" pocket of the Deltana FP155. Trimco's 1060/1061 flush cup pulls are the standard-size cup in the same family if the 1111 is more cutout than the stile will take. All three are face-flush pulls, so the difference is the size of the mortise you are prepared to cut into the door.

They are not the same part. The Baldwin Estate 8601 is a pocket door pull offered for passage and dummy, so it is specified as a door function set for a pocket door opening. The Deltana FP155 is a single rectangular stainless steel flush pull, 4" x 2" x 1/2", used wherever a face flush installation is wanted, including sliding doors, cabinet doors, and pocket doors. If the pocket door needs a latching or dummy function, the 8601 is the item; if you need a plain recessed finger pull in the door face, the FP155 is.

It comes in one finish, brushed stainless, so it reads with satin stainless and US32D/brushed chrome trim already hung on adjacent openings. Handy if you're standardizing pulls across a floor of sliders and don't want a mixed finish. If your building runs brass or bronze, this isn't the pull for it.
