Deltana SB3058 Shutter Bar/Door Latch 1-1/8"

The SB3058 is a small solid brass shutter bar that latches two shutter doors together at the meeting point. It is the kind of catch used on cabinet and furniture doors with small leaves, not a locking device for an entry opening. If you need to hold a pair of small doors closed against each other, this is the part; if you need security on a full-size door, this is not it.

A shutter bar latches the two leaves to each other, so neither door needs a strike in the frame or a fixed inactive leaf. A magnetic or roller cabinet catch pulls one door to the case, which means you need a fixed point to catch against. On a pair of shutter or furniture doors that meet in the middle with nothing behind them, the bar is the one that works. The SB3058 is that bar in 1-1/8 inch.

Eight finishes: Polished Brass, PVD Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Nickel, Brushed Nickel, Polished Chrome, Brushed Chrome, and Oil Rubbed Bronze. If the latch has to match hinges and knobs already in the room, the PVD Polished Brass is the one to pick when the piece sees hands or moisture, since PVD is the plated-and-coated version of the polished brass rather than a raw lacquered finish.

Solid brass through the body, not a plated steel stamping. Both the material and the substrate are brass, so a scratch does not expose a different metal underneath, and the part will not rust on a shutter or cabinet in a humid room.

Deltana rates the SB3058 for commercial use. For a property manager or hospitality buyer that means it is a reasonable choice for casework and shutter doors in guest rooms, lobbies, and common areas, not just residential furniture. It is still a light-duty catch, so it belongs on small doors and shutters rather than anything that gets pulled hard.

Each. The unit of measure is one latch, so if you are doing a run of cabinets or a bank of shutters, count one SB3058 per pair of doors and order that quantity.
