1) What finishes do the Deltana SCWS910 steel wood screws come in?
Eleven finishes: polished brass, antique brass, brushed brass, polished chrome, brushed chrome, brushed nickel, antique nickel, oil rubbed bronze, paint black, prime coat white, and zinc dichromate. The point of that range is that the screw head disappears into the hardware it is fastening, so you match the screw to the finish on the plate or trim rather than leaving a bright head on a bronze escutcheon. Prime coat white is the one meant to be painted over.
2) Will a 1 inch screw be long enough to hold a door hinge?

5) Do I need to pre-drill for a #9 x 1 inch wood screw?
A #9 is a fairly heavy gauge for finish work, so in hardwood jambs, oak trim, or anywhere close to the edge of a stile, a pilot hole keeps the wood from splitting. In softwood pine jambs you can usually drive it straight. The 1 inch length means the pilot only has to go as deep as the screw, not through the jamb.
