Deltana WBC1310U15 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Deltana WBC1310 wire basket fit a shower corner, or is it a flat-wall basket?
It's a triangular corner basket, so it's built to sit across the inside corner of two shower walls rather than flat on one. The footprint is 13-1/4 x 10-1/4 inches, which is what you need to check against your corner before you drill. If the wall space you're working with is a flat run rather than a corner, this shape won't sit right against it.
2) Does the Deltana WBC1310 shower basket come with mounting hardware, or do I need to buy anchors separately?
Mounting hardware is packed in the box with the basket. For tile or stone shower walls you'll still want to match the anchor to your substrate, but you aren't ordering fasteners as a separate line item to complete the install.
3) Is a solid brass shower basket going to hold up in a wet commercial bathroom?
The WBC1310 is solid brass through the body, not plated pot metal, and Deltana rates it for commercial use. Brass is what keeps it from tarnishing out in constant shower humidity, which is the usual failure point on cheaper wire baskets in hotel and multi-family bathrooms.
4) What finishes does the Deltana WBC1310 corner basket come in, and can I match it to the rest of my bathroom trim?
Five finishes: PVD Polished Brass, Polished Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Polished Nickel, Brushed Nickel and Polished Chrome. The PVD polished brass is the one to pick if you want the brass look to stay put in a shower, since PVD is a harder coating than lacquered brass. For a property manager standardizing across units, all five are the same WBC1310 body, so you can spec one shape and vary finish by building.
5) Is the WBC1310 a soap dish or a full shower shelf?
It's a wire basket, sized at 13-1/4 x 10-1/4 inches, so it holds bottles and shampoo rather than a single bar of soap. Deltana groups it with its bath accessories alongside the smaller soap dishes, but at that footprint it's the storage option, not the soap holder. If all you need is somewhere for a bar of soap, look at a smaller Deltana bath accessory instead of this one.
6) I'm ordering Deltana bath accessories for a hotel renovation. What model number do I give my distributor for the triangular corner basket?
Model WBC1310, brand Deltana, part of the HD Bath Baskets series. The finish is the only thing you specify beyond that, and the size is fixed at 13-1/4 x 10-1/4 inches, so there's no separate size code to add.
7) Can the Deltana WBC1310 basket be mounted outside a shower, like over a vanity or in a laundry?
Nothing in the design limits it to a shower, but the shape decides the answer: the triangular corner form only mounts cleanly where two walls meet. Deltana builds it for shower walls as added storage. On an open vanity wall you'd have a basket with two mounting edges and only one wall to fasten to.
8) How is the Deltana WBC1310 sold, per basket or in a multi-pack?
Sold each. The price you see is one basket in one finish, so a 40-unit apartment turn means 40 line quantities, not 10 boxes of four.
