Detex 100851 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Detex 100851 and what is it used for?
The 100851 is a washer, a genuine Detex OEM replacement part for commercial exit devices. It is a service component, not a complete device or trim, and it goes back in during reassembly of a Detex exit device after a repair or rebuild.
2) Will the Detex 100851 washer fit any brand of exit device?
No. The 100851 is made for compatible Detex exit device hardware only. If the device on your door is Von Duprin, Falcon, or another brand, order that manufacturer's own part instead of substituting this washer.
3) Does ordering the Detex 100851 include any other exit device hardware?
No. You get the washer only. Screws, rods, latches, springs, and any other pieces of the exit device are ordered separately as their own Detex parts.
4) Is the Detex 100851 washer rated for commercial door use?
It is a commercial-duty component, catalogued for commercial rather than residential door hardware, and it is used in offices, schools, healthcare buildings, retail, warehouses, multi-tenant residential, and government facilities.
5) Should a property manager stock the Detex 100851 washer as a spare?
If your building runs Detex exit devices, yes. Small hardware like this washer is what holds up a repair when it is missing, so keeping a few on the shelf means a device can be reassembled the same day rather than waiting on a parts order.
How fast can I get the Detex 100851 delivered?
